20 Dec

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I can’t think of a better flavor combination that chocolate and peanut butter.

I’ve made a healthier recipe that is a take on these bars here, but now is not the time for those. Now is the time for these melt-in-your mouth bars. It’s Friday and it’s the holidays. Do I need to give you another excuse?

This recipe is so simple, it’s crazy.

Indulgent Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars

Makes 25 small bars

2 cups graham cracker crumbs

2 cups powdered sugar

1 1/2 sticks melted butter

12 ounces smooth peanut butter

12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

1. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper so it hangs over the ends to create a handle to lift the entire bar out of the pan before cutting them. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and butter. Press the graham cracker mixture firmly into the lined pan. Place pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

2. Melt chocolate chips by placing them in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 1/2 power for 1 minute. Stir well. Continue to microwave at 1/2 power in 15 to 30 second intervals, stirring well in between, until chocolate is melted. Remove graham cracker mixture from refrigerator. Pour melted chocolate over top. Refrigerate until firm.

3. Once firm, remove entire bar from pan by lifting with the parchment paper handles. Place on a cutting board and cut into 25 small pieces.
